Primary Bedroom Fireplace Design Project

Fireplace Design | Geneva, IL

This primary bedroom fireplace was designed to bring warmth, texture, and intentional craftsmanship into a serene, modern retreat. The focal point of the space features handcrafted tile from Stone Impressions, a brand known for blending artistry with innovative production techniques.

When designing this space, the goal was to select materials that not only elevated the aesthetic but also carried a deeper story. American-made products were a priority, ensuring both quality and meaningful sourcing. The fireplace tile introduces subtle texture and visual depth while maintaining a calming, neutral palette that complements the overall bedroom design.

Primary Bedroom Natural Fireplace Design

Before

After

Founded by artist Melinda Earl, StoneImpressions began as a passion project rooted in creativity and resilience. In 1994, Melinda started experimenting in her garage, combining plaster, oils, and textiles to create textured artwork. Her curiosity led to the development of a proprietary hand-printing technique that transfers imagery onto stone, eventually leading to the founding of PhotoStone and the brand’s evolution into what it is today.

This history of innovation is embedded in every tile, making the fireplace not just a design feature, but a conversation piece.

The combination of handcrafted materials, neutral tones, and thoughtful sourcing creates a fireplace that feels both elevated and personal. It serves as a quiet focal point within the primary bedroom, balancing luxury with authenticity.
